Auto Manufactures Are Actually Striving To Produce Eco-friendly Cars
January 27th, 2012 by adminThe more we count on fossil fuels, the more we are going to find our environment destroyed by its effects. If we look at cars, that is somewhere we can start to see shifts. In an effort to to deal with the issue with fuel emissions, care manufacturers are setting out to build more cars that will not harm the environment.
There are a lot of different types of these eco friendly cars, the most eco friendly being a car that runs on battery. The fact that it is powered by battery means there is no need for diesel or petrol. Sounds superb because it doesn’t require fuel, so you can save money and it’s not harmful to the environment which is great, but there is a drawback. The automobile engines themselves are a little restrictive today but the cars are now available to consumers. What this simply means is that you must recharge the battery after around 100 miles, so it doesn’t run very far on one run.
Consumers could as well consider another sort of car, the hybrid. Hybrids are eco friendly and they are both powered by battery and gasoline. Here is an explanation of how hybrid cars really run. It is the battery power that is utilized initially by the hybrid car. When vehicle is running at a certain speed, it begins using gas, giving the hybrid a lot of power for the highway. The great thing about the hybrid using gas is that it recharges the battery automatically, meaning you don’t have to charge the battery yourself using an outside electrical source.
There is also another kind of autos, known as plug-in hybrid vehicles. They work much in the same way as the earlier hybrid vehicle and are friendly to the environment. Do note that the standard hybrid vehicle does not have to be recharged separately whereas this is not the case with the plug-in hybrid. In terms of fuel consumption, both types of hybrid cars appear to fare better than your typical car.
One hybrid vehicle that can give you 50 miles to the gallon is the Prius from Toyota. At a price approximately $22,000, the Toyota Prius has become a best seller. Toyota is not the only one who is in the hybrid car market, however; Honda introduced the ‘Insight’ and in fact this was the first hybrid to be released to consumers. The Honda Insight was not received in the same fashion as the Prius by Toyota but it opened the consumer market for hybrid vehicles. A multi-awarded hybrid car and priced at approximately $27,000 is the Ford Fusion Hybrid. It is viewed by many as the best hybrid in the US. A car which is believed to produce no emissions whatsoever is the i-MiEV from Mitsubishi. It was among the first electric cars to be created by a Japanese auto company.
We are going to see ongoing development for this type of vehicle and numerous options for buyers looking for cars that are friendly to the environment.
